ORCID - Connecting Research and Researchers

2017-12-20

We are pleased to invite journal authors to join the open access database of researchers.

ORCID provides individual researchers with free of charge identifiers that can be added to their names under which they conduct their research, academic and innovation activities.

ORCID iD makes it possible to uniquely identify a researcher when submitting a publication or a grant application, as well as during any research-related activity.

An individual researcher profile provides all available information on a researcher’s professional activities and also links it to other identifiers (e.g., Scopus, ResearcherID, or LinkedIn).

ORCID is a non-profit organization supported by a global community of organizational members, including research organizations, publishers, funders, professional associations, and other stakeholders in the research ecosystem.

As of 2017, the system has registered more than 4 million identifiers.
